Marigold: Marigold is a great source for the phytochemical lutein. When ingested by your dog, lutein concentrates in a section of the eye called the macula. Macular lutein protects the eye from the sun’s damaging effects by filtering blue light. Healthy lutein levels also help counteract the gradual deterioration of the macula, which is a leading cause of vision loss.
